CoreSHIELD is the first of a new breed of forensic write protect devices specifically designed to work with any personal computer operating system and any IDE or EIDE hard disk drive. CoreSHIELD works transparently with other forensic devices that convert IDE data signals to USB, Firewire or SCSI. With CoreSHIELD you no longer need a separate Firewire write blocking device to protect a drive.

TECHNICALLY ADVANCED
CoreSHIELD's write blocking technology is so robust that it allows the investigator to boot a machine and view its drive contents logically all while maintaining the media in pristine condition. CoreSHIELD uses a specially designed ASIC microchip which completely controls and blocks any and all instructions by the computer to write data to a drive. While other write blocking technologies may claim to have ATA-133 compatibility, they often use slower, multi purpose FPGA microchips and do not operate at true ATA-133 speeds. Only the CoreSHIELD ASIC chip allows true, full bandwidth ATA-133 data transfers.

With CoreSHIELD, all attempts to write to the protected drive are blocked. Period. CoreSHIELD requires no special drivers, software, adapters, SCSI based converters or outside power sources. The CoreSHIELD bridge card, an IDE data cable and a low voltage Molex cable (supplied) are all that is required for no hassle, full access, write protected operations of IDE Drives.
